no limit

less than a week
til the adventure begins
and we can both temporarily
run from the ruts we're in --
-- no shades of gray prison walls
or concrete graveyard, semi-basement views,
but glistening white and blue
mountain tops,
and sights of every shape
and size and hue.
no scheduled breaks,
no dress code, no rules, no race,
no limit to the amount
of pictures we can take,
memories we can make
along the way
except perhaps the time
between the days
we leave and return
may the next few days burn
fast, may the following
two weeks creep,
may we sleep
only when we must,
and trust
our hearts
every step
along the way.

Gypsy Treavelers,

Wow! This must be an awful fancy undertaking if you have your own Poet Laureate on board. I only had a bunch of kids and a driver-seat-decorating dog with me on my trip. Lovely poem Christina. Looking forward to more.

She does have a book published...who knows maybe you will get a signed one for putting up with us a few days.

If anybody else is interested in Christina Deming poetry. Look up "33" by Christina Deming. Available online and at bookstores.
